UK (Commonwealth Union)_ Celebrating its 75th anniversary, the modern Commonwealth reflects on its enduring significance and impact on the global stage. According to Commonwealth Secretary-General, the Rt Hon Patricia Scotland KC, when Commonwealth nations jointly take a decision, it can transform the whole world. During the occasion, she underscored the organization’s ability to shape international affairs with collective decisions, highlighting its pivotal role in global governance.

The occasion marks a significant milestone, commemorating 75 years since the London Declaration was signed, marking the establishment of the modern Commonwealth. According to the Secretary-General, from its humble beginnings as a union of eight nations convened amidst the aftermath of war, the Commonwealth has burgeoned into a formidable alliance encompassing 56 nations and 2.5 billion individuals. She also emphasized the familial ties, shared values, and collective endeavors that have sustained the Commonwealth over the decades, reinforcing its enduring strength and unity.
