Additionally, the 37-year-old Bollywood luminary also sniped at her Congress rival, Vikramaditya Singh, suggesting that he may need to make arrangements to vacate his position. Ms. Ranaut’s comments were prompted by accusations that she might abandon Mandi post-election and return to Mumbai for her filmy career. She remarked, “They will have to suffer the consequences of talking so low about a woman… And that is becoming clear today with the way we have got the lead. Mandi has not taken kindly to the insults for daughters”.

The BJP, having secured all Lok Sabha seats in the 2014 and 2019 polls, placed significant reliance on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal, particularly following his three campaign rallies aimed at keeping parliamentary seats and securing victories in six Assembly seats. Meanwhile, the Congress had pinned hopes on its substantial support base of 2.5 lakh government employees, whose demand for the reinstatement of the old pension scheme had been addressed by the government led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.

Many other film personalities also emerged victorious, while some were defeated in the recent general election in India. The election outcome saw a coalition led by Prime Minister’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) securing success in the election, but with a diminished majority, while an alliance led by the Indian National Congress stood as the second-largest political bloc. Notably, dream girl Hema Malini, popular actress of the 70s, clinched victory for the third consecutive time in the Mathura constituency. Arun Govil, renowned for his portrayal of Hindu God Rama in the long-running series Ramayana, secured victory in the Meerut constituency. Manoj Tiwari, a superstar of Bhojpuri cinema, secured his third consecutive win in the Northeast Delhi seat. Ravi Kishan, another luminary of Bhojpuri and Hindi cinema, won his Gorakhpur seat.
