Mumbai (Commonwealth Union)_ Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha tied the knot with her long-time fiance, Zaheer Iqbal, in a private wedding ceremony held at her newly acquired apartment in Mumbai on Sunday. The couple jointly announced their marriage with enchanting photos from their civil wedding. On the big day, Sonakshi radiated elegance in a white saree, opting for minimal makeup and jewelry, complemented by flowers adorning her hair. Zaheer Iqbal looked dapper in a white kurta. The pictures captured the memorable moments: in one picture, Zaheer tenderly kisses Sonakshi’s hand; another features Sonakshi with her father, Shatrughan Sinha, while Zaheer signs official documents. The final frame depicts the newlyweds posing happily for the camera.

Sonakshi Sinha penned a heartfelt note alongside the photos, reflecting on their journey: “On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017) in each other’s eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… leading up to this moment… where with the blessings of both our families and both our gods… we are now man and wife. The couple formalized their union under the Special Marriage Act, conducting the civil ceremony at Sonakshi’s residence, 81 Aureate, near Mumbai’s Bandra West. After their civil union, where both looked stunning adorned in white ethnic attire, the couple hosted a wedding reception attended by celebrity friends and family. The event was a grand affair, with top guests including Anil Kapoor and others gracing the occasion. Among the attendees were close family members of Sonakshi and Zaheer, as well as notable figures like Huma Qureshi, Saqib Saleem, Aditi Rao Hydari with fiancé Siddharth, and Arpita Khan with Aayush Sharma.
During the reception, Sonakshi dazzled in a stunning red and gold saree, while Zaheer looked sharp in a white kurta paired with straight-fit pants and a jacket. Actress Kajol shimmered in a gold saree paired with chunky earrings, while Anil Kapoor opted for a sleek all-black ensemble. Chunky Pandey sported a pastel blue blazer over a white shirt and blue jeans, complemented by matching loafers. Huma Qureshi stood out in a sparkling gold saree adorned with a floor-length jacket. Saqib Saleem chose a green kurta layered with a matching jacket over black trousers.
Following the ceremony, Shatrughan Sinha, along with his wife Poonam, expressed his joy to the media, stating that the happiest moment for every father is to see their daughter’s wedding. He said, “My daughter looks most happy with Zaheer. Unki jodi salamat rahe (May their union stay strong forever).” Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal worked together in the 2022 film “Double XL” and reportedly began dating in 2020. Their civil ceremony marked the start of celebratory events, culminating in a reception held at a Mumbai restaurant owned by Shilpa Shetty, bringing their wedding festivities to a glamorous close.
